You can customize the snapshot background in Plant Tycoon by replacing one or more of the backgrounds that came with your game with photos or other art that you have created. To do that in Windows, follow these steps below (see Jazzo's post farther down in this thread for Mac instructions).
First, you should back up or rename the game's background image(s) so that you can easily restore them when desired.
To rename the file(s), follow these steps:
- Open My Computer
- Navigate to C:\Program Files and open the Plant Tycoon folder
- Open the Images folder
- Look for the three images named arrangementBG01, arrangementBG02, and arrangementBG03 - those are the images used by the game for the snapshot backgrounds
- Right-click on the image you wish to replace and select Rename
- Rename the image to something like arrangementBG01-backup
You may, instead, simply move the files to a backup folder of your choosing.
To prepare and use your own image as a snapshot background, follow these steps:
- Load the desired image into an image editing program
- Crop the image to 800x600 pixels
- Save your image to the game's Images folder as a JPEG image with the name arrangementBG01, arrangementBG02, or arrangementBG03
- Open Plant Tycoon
- Click on the camera icon
- Click on Change Scene, if necessary, to display your picture
That's all there is to customizing the look of your Plant Tycoon snapshots! Have fun!
