Yes, the message doesn't say whether the luck is good or bad luck! You still have to take the usual chance with the event, with a possible good or bad outcome (although with some events, such as the vials, you can choose to ignore it).

I haven't found the last piece of the gong yet....still looking. The crate on the beach was not food. It was a piece of the gong. I am just missing the right top side. I look forward to hitting the gong. I have every thing else though.

GONG TAKES LIFE...!

I am puzzled.

I have 3 tribes, and ring the gong for all 3 every chance I get. Overall, I've had an even distribution of good and bad results. I've always been able to see the results of each effect, until now.

A couple of days ago, I got "The gong grants luck" and I've yet to figure out what effect that produced. I couldn't find any changes in my villagers or the stats. Of course I can't remember every detail about all the villagers, but didn't see any obvious differences.

Have any of you had this experience with the Gong?

When "The gong grants luck", an event happens a few minutes later, good or bad!

AHA! Well, duh, I should have figured that out. There was an extra event, I just didn't connect the two.

It was the first time I'd seen this event, too. A few of my villagers departed by boat to look for the south side of the island. No doubt I'll never find out what happened to them..

I'm sure that event could have a major effect on a small village, but mine had a population of 105, so all it did was make room for a few new babies.
