i have another suggestion.Instead of having your villagers having to go back and forth for rocks and wood for huts,they could get it in advance so the dont need to walk as much.like it would be its own resource.

It's practical. But it might cut down on the time it takes to become a master or complete these tasks too much (make the game too much less challenging). But then, if they had to make all the trips to gather in the first place, then yeah, I guess that could work.
I like the idea I read earlier about having smaller gaps between tech levels and having more of them - like 5 levels of each that you could purchase instead of three.

Maybe some form of bartering system for personal items? Maybe they can develop crafts such as weaving cloth (where does all that laundry come from, anyway?), jewelry, utensils, baskets, hats, etc., and trade these to other villagers or give them as gifts.

And how about different art forms? We have dancing, why not singing, acting, carving (besides the idol), painting or drawing?

what i dont get is if you are breeding is sucessful the first time,why is she sometimes not succesful the next?i mean its not like they stop liking eachother after 5 seconds!!!
