It is an island so dogs & cats as pets don't make a whole lot of since, but monkeys, elephants, & maybe jungle cats fit the theme. Train them to work, clean up after them and chase them out of food b-4 thier trained would all be good for more for villagers to do. Kids collecting automaitaclly defeats the idea behind collecting-- Bad idea.

Banana tree, pinapple plants -- dried pianapple left it layed out in sun and discovered how great it taste, food, puzzle, & something to do all in 1. All great ideas. More things to spend tech pts on great idea (hair-dos, medicine from hosp, shoes, hats, etc.) Fertilizer from researching for crops. They do all that researching and never discover anything.

School house, fishing pier, boat house all great ideas.

I too love the pop-up decisions u have to make, more often, and more variety would be greatly welcomed.

CAN'T WAIT FOR VV3

My daughter watched me playing VV and started on me about how much I would love the "Sims". She kept after me until she gave up and purchased it for me. Tried it, hated it, I like my villagers much better, thank you. She tried playing it and now agrees with me. VV all the way!

It's not exactly a sim game, nor a puzzle game. It's a hybrid, it's unique, that's why we like it.
We all also like it, because the game doesn't satisfy our apetite imediatly and entirely. The game is slow paced, and so, causing a huge amount of anticipation.
People here suggesting ideas that might shake the balance between puzzle and sim. No, actually, some of the ideas here, will absolutely change the game's general charm, and (blessed) simplicity. The things that makes it feel unique.

I got to play most of the big sim games. Implementing more details (most of them are needless, fair to say), will result in the game being tedious (also because there's no way they're going to enlarge the map). Have you noticed that 90% of things that can happen, happen for a reason? there's a use for that incident, there's a goal to achieve...?
Also, the only way they're going to change the map's size, is if they find another way to navigate easily and swiftly. That's a little hard to accomplish, without making it a little bit complicated for people who dont usually play games.

Anyway, before this turning into another wall of text, believe me, the game will remain straight forward and honest. Oh, and map-size won't change.

Yup, I also hate the sims. Simcity on the other hand... Never mind, I was being sarcastic towards somebody else, it wasn't just an independent remark. \:D

I am loving playing VV2 and my kids love watching me play. I even got a friend hooked and she is just trying out VV1. Anyway, I've been reading all these ideas and most of them are wonderful, some prolly wouldn't work and others wouldn't be appropiate(i.e. cannibals, fighting) since kids do enjoy/play the game. Some of the ideas I never would have thought of. I know you all are prolly tired of reading the same things over again and again so I will try to just add new ones. Then maybe comment on others in another post.

~I would like to see the children gather the mushrooms by themselves to help with food, especially in the early stages of the game when food is limited. I think having to help the kids get collectibles is still the way to go.
~I would like to see the clothes cost less tech points at first then increase as your villagers learn more. I had so many villagers coming out looking alike and having the same clothes it was confusing.
~Would like to see more of a range of characters...needs to be more different looks. Maybe crazy hair colors: green, purple, blue
~Would like to see families stay together. Moms and Dads could decide when they want to have more and maybe go indoors theirselves or have something to tell you they are ready.
~Would like to see villagers live longer. I'm sure island lfe is hard, but mid/late 60's seemed a bit soon to me.
~More for the Healers to study. Once they get adept, they stop studying the flowers and just wander around swimming, eating, drinking, it's aggrivating.
~Kids could do drawings, make necklaces/bracelets, pick flowers for parents, play something other than tag, chase butterflies, splash each other in the stream.
~Have villagers decorate their huts with flowers, shells, feathers, etc.

That's all I can think of for now. I would like to see a longer game if 3 is going to be the final installment. I hope that the developers will read all these wonderful suggestions and actually make them a part of the game. It's fun to see the gamers ideas come to life. \:D

That's a great idea! Children pick up collectables for tech points & collecting and adults can pick collectables for decoration.

* In VV3, it would be nice to see VV1 and VV2 villagers and outfits (I miss some of the VV1 villagers)(oh, and I miss bald villagers!)

*We all personally hate the GC, so we should make an island event out of him.

*If those parrots fly around, why can't monkeys run around the village? And lizards sulk around?

*More plants, more fish (sharks?)

*I wish everything the villagers do have a meaning! I can't stand it when the scientists quit working for the sake of enjoying the pond!

*More types of ways to improve skills (I'm worried about the doctors, for I am unwilling to make a sick stew over and over again!)

*Fried Fish?

*A way to make villagers not get stuck? (Like children on a new village with red mushrooms and the fire?)

*It's easy to make kids get healing and building skill (sickness and exercising stew) but what about the others? Not everyone can wait forever for an island event!

That's all for now!
