New Ideas... Well
1)when a villager is sick highlight him/her sometime I have to go through my list and see who is sick.
2)more popups like the monkeys found your scarecrow and run off with it.
3) bigger gardens
4) make your own stew like 2 fish 1 carrot etc
5) see if they can make a boat to find new land or new people. Thought that it was really cool on vv2 that villagers from the other land came by the waterfall.
6) Mothers not to wait 2yrs before working have them work in the garden with a ponco on there back with the baby
7) Be able to make stuff for higher tech points example: bigger baskets to carry the veggies, Make a pole for fishing & a trap for the crabs.
I think thats all that I can think of at the moment. Can't wait for VV3 to come.

WARNING!!! WALL OF TEXT!!

I summed up most of the ideas written here, devided to what I like, and what I think will not work. What's not here, I just felt indifferent about.

All the ideas I like, with some remarks of my own:

"Arrow keys can move you around gently."

"Double-click on a character automatically opens the DETAILS window for that person."

"Nursing mothers who tell stories to the other kids and therefore get more parenting experience. Maybe they can teach them too." -I agree, pretty little growth in parenting, but still something, but the children don't get anything out of it (less boredom maybe?).

"More Building jobs for builders."

"More huts maybe about 5 small huts and few big ones." -I just think no matter how many huts, as long as there is one that is noticeably biggger than the rest- a master hut! =P

"Tree-house for kids" - Best ways I could think about for kids to train before reaching 14, e.g, building a small tree house (building. oh, and the tree house will keep collapsing every once in a while, because they're kids, and they pretty much suck at constracting. this way, there will always be a way to incresase kids' building), collecting mushrooms (farming), collecting collectibles (research). They're stats growth would be slow as it is, but I still think it should be capped somewhere in the middle of "trainnee".

"Day & night time" - I like the idea, but only graphically, i don't want my villagers to sleep half of the time.

"Personally I think VV game should be funny rather than magical" - I agree comletely.

"Parents have twins?" -Could be problematic (your'e getting double the work force, for no reason, just luck), but if there's a way to make it work, it could be really fun. Can't think of a way myself XD

"Less Incest." -Absolutely. I mean, I don't mind the action, but the bigger picture looks like a bunch of ignorant villagers, spawning undistinguishingly, until death. If incest wasn't allowed, and if there was a family tree page, each villager would be more special.

"More items to spend points on other than clothes, like medicine, or quick knowledge, lol or even hair do's!" -Excluding that free knowledge part, I like the idea ^_^

"More pop-ups where you decide what the villager should do."

"Fire per hut" -Especially in night time =).

"It would be nice if it would say 'Untrained Farmer' or 'Untrained Parent'". - Basically essential!

I thought about building a nursery, where who ever works there develops parenting skill (male or female), and everybody can dump they're babies there. That way women have an equal chance of becoming elders, without giving up raising children. But there's a problem - will such a feature give a player too much control?

All the ideas I think will not work, with reasoning:

"Bios for Villagers(Changeable)" -Tedious.

"Bigger map" -The game supposed to have 9 sections, for easy navigation. Also, the game consists on simplicity, bigger map, means bigger game. Meaning a lot of the charm is gone.

"Kids picking up stuff by themselves." -The whole point is YOU collecting the items. In any other way, you wouldn't care about how many collectibles you have.

"The whole army/cannibals thing." -Not even remotely suitable for this game.

"Healer should be able to heal bit of health to sick villager during healing." -The bar of health is replenished by eating food. It would be illogical that a person fills that kind of bar for another person. A healer converts "sick" to "healthy".

"I would like to see an outhouse" -That is just stupid.

"Collectibles, once a child has collected one you should decrease the number of times it appears to make it a bit easier to find the others." -Chances are, that it is already like that. if it would be increased any more, it will lose some logic and charm.

..."I would also like it to be easier to train the healers." - I kinda like the idea really, but healing is not THAT needed, the majority of the time, you're not even getting around using it. If it would be over trained (all villagers are adept/master doctors), you will lose interest in the skill (in general, as a player).

The game is a puzzle solving game combine with a sim game. Not a crazy adventure with many dangerous obstacles. puzzles! People here are going waaay over board, thinking crazy stuff should be implemented (e.g- extreme weather, army). It just won't work. The game is cute and family friendly, deal with it XD

Other than all of that, I would like to discuss the pets ideas a little more thoroughly:
Let's say you can build a farm, with sheeps, cows, and bulls. Let's say you could have any animal you wanted. What uses will it have, other than you staring at it, mesmerized?

I actually enjoy the repeating collectibles since they add tech points - at one point several butterflies helped ease my village through a food crisis.

I also enjoy having to manipulate the kids to find mushrooms and collectibles - otherwise some of the challenge is taken away. However, I'd love to see a child increase in a skill if a collectible or mushroom is found - maybe in research if they find a butterfly, shell or _bug_ collectible, building if they find a pebble, farming if they find a mushroom. If kids can gain skill in healing before they turn 14, surely they could grow in other areas too. Also, I'm not sure if this is already the case, but parenting skills in adults should be increased if they tell a story or teach the children.

Personally I've found that training builders is the hardest after everything is done - somehow fixing huts doesn't build up skill as quickly as researching or farming. It seems to take twice as long to get a trainee builder than anything else.

Please no cannibals, warrriors or other violent type things. I do love the "magical" aspect as well...although right now the story seems a little disjointed. LOL!

i enjoyed playing vv1 and vv2 but once you have solve everything there is nothing else to do but keep breeding, i think once the villagers have solved all the puzzles and done all the tasks on the island they should have a cave that they could explore and come out on another part of the island or explore other parts of the island instead of just the part we can see and have more tasks and puzzles to solve, like different parts of the island gives them different puzzles and different tasks to solve, and if they have a golden child in vv3 he should be able to age as well instead of staying 5. dancingbaby2002

Well since you asked! I think that in vv3 the villagers should go in and out of the other huts. They get thier clothse from the research hut. I just think that all huts should be used. And nursing mothers need to get skill for breeding. I have a couple of women who increase the tribe constantly. And it doesn't matter what job I give them. I have found that true with most of my other games as well. Ans they can't become elders at all. Also I would love to see the children disappearing in a hut to be educated. This would actually help with parenting skills. And one more thing.Actually have a outhouse...

Wow, everybody has really great ideas. I already posted some of my ideas on another thread but thought I would echo them here just for fun.

I like the idea of weather and seasons in moderation. Seasons could add to or take from jobs (gathering new vegetation in warm or clearing snow in cold).

I liked the idea of dim night but villagers could still work and this would add to jobs skills like elder/ guardian you know, some kind of security.

I would like to be able to enter the huts. Inside you could have puzzles or tasks. It would also add to visual diversity ... something new to look at. Also, for nursing mothers it could be away to add skill by fixing a nursery or something.

Trips through the jungle or at least beyond the borders of the village could also enhance a change of sceanery and could be the site of tasks, puzzles and island events.

Still like the market and daycare ideas. Again, skill points and diversity.

Second and above levels would be fun. If you've solved and collected everything in the village you could go through a cave or something to a new site for more puzzles or collectibles while still able to return tt the village to see how things are going.

A boat or wharf building was a good idea I thought. This could help builders.

I like the idea of marriages or spending tech points on things other than clothes (hair and whatnot). Mostly because I have solved all the puzzles and found all collectibles so this would give me something to do with the villagers. I'm avoiding having an 'interactive screen saver' and would still like to play.

I think my bottom line was that the interaction with the villagers was what was the most appealling part of the game for me (ie: versus other 'plain' puzzle games) and I would like things that enhanced that interaction.

Also, on more technical levels "untrained farmer", "untrained parent" are great ideas. Especially as my village reached its peak of 117 villagers, training became very difficult because I try to train many at once and while looking for someone to be trained I'd loose track of another.

I'd like for villagers to become "Esteemed Elders" even if you've reached the maximum totems. Just for accomplshments sake I guess.

Double clicking for details is great.

I'm too tired to think of anymore as yet. It's a great game. I look forward to any improvements.

Hello, here some ideas that catch my attention:

"Warriors. maybe you might need an army to ward off headhunters or cannibals. Obviously you don't have bloodshed. And you do not see the cannibals munching people but maybe you need an army of a certain size to keep the cannibals away and protect the tribe."
NO!! PLEASE, LET OUR VILLAGERS LIVE IN PEACE! IT IS SO RARE!!!

" More Building jobs for builders e.g. building a wharf, building extra food-bin for farmer to use, make fire to cook fish, make stew e.g."
An open-air game place for the kids, musical instruments, a school, tables, windmill,

"More action for young villagers e.g. chatting and water-fight for 10-13 year olds, 2-9 year old can alway stick together until they get older and they can their own hut, maybe a tree-house" Building by an adult, it's better!
And more "resting action" for adults as...chatting (singing?) near the fire. I often need to oblige the elders to rest a little bit and it's not evident!!

"to spend points on other than clothes, like medicine, or quick knowledge, lol or even hair do's!"
objects made by craftsmen (pottery, blanket, baskets...)

"...adult chatting. An evening around the fire"
" Please no killing, no army no need for police. Let's dream of a civilise village." YES!

" I like the idea about training children, but there is no reason to train all of them since all kids grow up and it would be a lost effort. There should be a special child that will appear at one point in time that tells you that he/she can be trained to do things." Right! It's what I tried to say. May be when he/she is just 14 years old, I don’t like children at work too young!

"...having one fire per hut" Oh! Many work to gather all!!

"make your own stew like 2 fish 1 carrot etc"
By the way: I think that they miss calcium (milk etc.) in their diet but I don’t know how to remedy. May be a savage goat? It could be that: the pet!?

"I would like to be able to enter the huts. Inside you could have puzzles or tasks. It would also add to visual diversity ... something new to look at."
As a second level...I like it.

Take care, we may have new ideas each day!!!

How about combining vv1&2, Make the map bigger. Make benches for nursing mums, boats for fishermen, sail boats for fun, banana trees as well as coconuts. Also fruit farms, make the veg farm a bit bigger and lastly a museum dedecated to the founders of the village. And as a lot of people suggested, children pickup mushrooms and collectables automaticly.

**i think that you should get a certain number of tech points for each puzzle you solve, the harder the puzzel is, the more points you get.

**it would be cool if the details were more elaborate. like if every villager had likes and dislikes. also instead of just seeing their parents you could see their whole family tree.

**deff make it longer. i was so sad when i finished vv2.
