That always amuses me too when they bring a collectible (I think it's generally the beetles) in a zigzaging road!!

Linda comes back, sees her with baby, another baby, after Linda already taken her off parenting.

"You have no food in the bin! Do you not understand this? Does this not concern you? The hut does not need to be examined. Laundry can wait! Fish! Fish is all you need to be concerned about!!! get in there and do not come out empty-handed, do you hear me?!"

(Actual conversation I had today with one of my villagers after opening the game to find my almost 5 digits worth of food was gone.)
