If I remember correctly the common items get you 100 pts after the initial "new item", the uncommon are 250 pts & the rare items are 1500 pts per grab. ;\)

Well, you are certainly luckier than me. I only have 2,578! But I think that is because I just bought Level 2 in Science. Well, at least I wll gain my 90,000 faster now, but it's still a loooong way to go. On the bright side, a lot of rare and uncommon collectables are turning up, I even got 3 red mushrooms in a row!!
