I just started playing this a couple of days ago, and maybe its because I am just starting out but the game seems to more or less play itself. I expected to alot more control over the villagers but anything I try I keep getting the message 'more research necessary'...am I missing something?
They managed to build a few huts, unblock the stream and make babies! I didnt have any involvement in this at all!!

Btw what timezone is this, Im currently 11 hours ahead

LDW is located in San Francisco (Pacific Time) but the forum server is obviously in a different time zone!

You are correct in the assumption that there are many, many things to do in this game but many of them can only be done at certain stages of the game. You'll find that as you research techs further (thus the "more research necessary") you'll be able to do so much more. However, I won't say which techs and which levels let you do what, that's the fun of the game, to find out.

If you want though, I think there is a cheat guide somewhere else in this forum that will tell you all.
