Technologies can be thought of as the knowledge that your villagers have about various facets of village life and work. They can be seen by tapping the Tech Center button at the lower left of the screen.
Tech points are used to purchase Technology upgrades.
How do I earn Tech Points?
Tech Points can be earned by placing villagers at the Research Table, where they will perform research and earn tech pints. This will also train the villager as a Scientist. The more experienced your Scientist is, the more tech points they will earn each time they do research.
You can set work preferences for each villager by viewing the Villager Details screen and tapping the 'star' next to the desired area of work. There are 6 types of work that villagers can perform, and tapping the star next to one of them will cause that villager to prefer the selected area of work over other types of work. To see the Villager Details screen, tap the picture at the lower right of the game screen and scroll to the desired villager using the arrows in the center of the screen.
Tech points can also be obtained by watching ads and in some random events. Your Scientists can also earn tech points faster by upgrading the Research Technology. Tech Points can also be purchased by using Lavastones.
What do Technology Upgrades do? Do I need them?
Technology Upgrades allow you to progress in the game by unlocking puzzles and other capabilities that will improve your vilagers' lives, more advanced levels of each of the technologies. They are needed to unlock puzzles and complete the game.
You can view the available Technologies by tapping the Tech Center icon at the bottom left of the game screen. The current level for each Technology is indicated by the number after the name of each Technology. Each Technology starts at Level 0 (zero). You can see what each upgrade will do for your tribe by tapping the question mark (?) at the left of each Technology.
