Villagers can produce children once they have reached the age of 18. As females age, their ability to produce children will decline until they will no longer be able to have babies (usually over the age of 50). Male villagers do not have an age restriction on their ability to have children. Keep reading for more detailed answers:
How do I make new villagers?Drag an adult male villager onto an adult female villager or vice versa and wait for them to go to the Love Shack to try for a baby. Remember that villagers have personalities just like we do, so they may not be interested in each other on the first few tries. Keep trying and good luck!
Why is my female villager not nursing a baby after going to the Love Shack?First, make sure that both of the villagers are at least 18 years old and the female is under age 50. Just as in real life, villagers will not always become pregnant when trying for a baby. You may need to send your villagers to the Love Shack a few times before they welcome a new life into the village. Don't give up!
Why do my villagers never try to have a baby on their own?If you'd like your villagers to become parents, you will need to select "Auto-Coupling" for at least one adult of each gender in the Villager Details menu. If nobody visits the Love Shack for a while, make sure that at least one adult villager of each gender is selected as your auto-parent. Also bear in mind that, as in real life, the age, health and food supply of your village will affect villagers' ability to bear children.
How long does it take for my villager to stop nursing the baby?It will take 4 real-time hours for the baby to become a toddler at age 2. You do not have to keep the game open during this time; however, time will not pass if you pause the game and it will take longer for the baby to reach toddler age and start walking around the village.
