Let me start by saying that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the games you put out. I have played all the Virtual Villager and Virtual Family games.

I love this new game as well, but I have been playing for almost 2 months and I really don’t see
that there is much to it and am almost ready to quit.

I have repaired the pond on the SW corner of the island, repaired the bridge to get to the North side of the island and repaired the beach area and the entry to the cave.

I have a note I have been carrying around for over a month that I dug up from the center of the stone circle. The note is “ gear information”. I have gone to the secretary, both men in the general store, the museum curator, the people in the bank, and the man in the clothing store, and no one asks about it. In the past if you have an item that is important, the secretary or one of the people mentioned about will ask you about it.

I have collected all of the minerals and almost all of the bugs. Other than finishing the bug and plant collection and buying all items available in store and house upgrades, what is left?

I have tried to use the ax and pickax on rocks and hills surrounding the island hoping to find something. There is strange wind chime music in a very specific area on the far NE side of the island – NOTE: there are never any bugs, garbage, grass, or treasures to find in this area. I keep hoping it is a magical area and try planting things there, but nothing seems to happen.

I have been picking mayors that have a high charm level, but am never able to make the
friend meter go up over half with any of the townsfolk - I have been collecting and saving
bugs, minerals and plants so that every day I am able to give each person the plant, bug or mineral they want 99% of the time. So if I am always able to give them what they want every day and I have a lot of charm AND the rabbit’s foot that I bought when I first started the game, why does the friend meter only go up to half? It seems pointless, especially now that when the mayor retires the meters reset.

I hope this doesn’t come across as mean, but I really thought there would be more depth to this game.

Please tell me if I am missing something – I don’t mind any spoilers, just tell me there is something to look forward to, or I’m afraid I’m gonna pull the plug on this game :-(

Hi Misty ~ about the note, I don't have the best memory, but I think you can give it to someone.

I'm in the same boat you are, playing everyday and waiting for the update. I've shifted my focus on getting different outfits for my townies haha!

Anyway, I did get a note and somebody did take it from me, unfortunately, I don't remember..I think it was....

I have been trying to think of something new to do so I can see what happens - so instead of giving the townies everything they ask for I don't. If they are rude on first greeting, I won't help them.
I don't see why I should put up with rudeness in a game.

Have you noticed when you are gardening in real life that you want to catch butterflies etc?

Amazing how a game can influence your real life. Maybe that's why there was a lot of complaints about the rudeness of the townies.

Perhaps game developers can use games for the goodness of mankind!

Well I tried handing it off to everyone including the adoption lady and one of the merchants that came to sell plants. I went to every resident of the town at least two or three times and all of the people that are in the store, bank, clothing store, Museum curator, etc.

Sigh... frown

What happened?
Also it would be nice if you changed out the bugs in the cave. Or added a second room to explore. Some new household items would be nice. This game needs a new quest soon. I love it but it is getting boring.

Hi Misty-- you have to go to the store and hand it over to the person on "BUY" counter. He will hand you another letter to order a missing part for a box that you need to give to your secretary in the town hall. Your secretary will tell you that ordering the part may take few days but i got minwithun 24 hrs. Check with tbe secretary once in a while to see if the parts arrived. Once ut arrives bring to the store "BUY" counter person again. Then he will hand you a "KEY". You have to bring the key to the "Museum" guy. The museum guy will then give you a riddle like clue.

THE PROBLEM: The story stops there and the team is working on it.Technically you have nothing to do in the town than doing your daily mayoral task and catch/sell bugs. I have 4 mayors already after the museum guy read the riddle. I literally tried everything for any next task but no progress. I even contacted their tech support for help/hint on what to do next. Rather i was given a link and the link only shows the announcement of the new update (which i already did) and stating that they are still working on the storyline. Its actually getting really boring coz as a gamer im expecting for new challenges everyday (Oh by the way there are also mystery visitors that will arrive once a week...and i guess thats the only exciting event im looking forward too as they are merchants selling various things) I have earned millions already and expanded my house to the limit for both right, left and back part. I have customized my towns features numerous times. I have planted trees, flowers, fruit trees and hybrid flowers everywhere BUT STILL ALL I CAN DO EVERYDAY IS THE SAME OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I even waitef for full moon as the museum guy said that the stone circle once full moon you can dig something on it. BUT once again theres none. I hope this once would help you.Im uninstalling the game though and will just focus on my SIMS game. Nice try for LDW.

Hi Barbara--- We have been patiently waiting for the story to progress. The game is really boring now no new task nor challenges apart from the daily task for the mayor. Its not only me whos experiecing the same issue. And by the way the most recent update yes corrected the issue about the street lamps seems floating, the post is there now but the light bulb now is the one seems see-through like image.Ill uninstall the all now and will just focus on my SIMS game as that gives me more interesting task and challenges.Ill chexk on you guys soon if the game will be more interesting as it used too.Ciao!!

I agree. A small update or something new would keep people interested.
Still no gold watering can, no new quests, and few hybrids. I would be happy with an understanding of hybrids. There is no mystery here, just frustration for a game that has potential.

We are hard at work on two updates: one to fix a few important bugs, and the other to add new features to the game (while we're working on preparing for a continuation of the story), but these things take time. Updating VT with new game features involves creating art assets, programming the new features, testing to make sure they work and that nothing was broken in the process, and getting things ready for the 3 app stores.

We hope you'll like what we're preparing, and we'll get it out to everyone as soon as we possibly can. Maybe this little hint at one of the new things will interest you?

I was feeling like I wasn't having fun anymore with no more quests to do. Then new bugs started showing up. In the last 3 days I've gotten 3-5 new bugs and a few new hybrid plants. So that alone helped me to see where the "future" of the game can go. I have 2 virtual towns. My 1st was on my old iPhone 5 and I got a new iPhone 6s a few weeks ago. I didn't want to get rid of my 1st town so I just started up the new one. It's quite exhausting to keep up with 1 let alone 2 towns but I know the " mistakes" I made the 1st time so I do different on 2nd game. I compared my museum donations and while I'm very close on the bugs and minerals I am no where near done on the plants. I have tried lots of tips I've seen here and some test ideas and not much luck. I'm holding on for an update.

I'm sure that once the major updates are ready, they will be well worth the wait. smile

In the meantime, I'm trying to complete the bug and plant collections and find new items for my house and new clothes for my mayors.

Super excited for that!!! I would pay tons for those and maybe tons for a barbershop. My mayor has the worst haircut/style ever!! hahaha!
btw:

Is anyone able to tell me which platforms are updated first? (ios, googleplay, amazon). I play on Amazon (ugh) and we seem to get the updates last. I should have waited and downloaded from Google Play Store.

Will be looking forward to the progress of the story line.Just disappointed for now as i even recommend the game to my friends but yah know..they are also gamers and expecting an exciting game.

Is anyone else having issues with the game not starting over in the morning?
For example, in the morning when you start playing, everything is exactly as it was the day before. No one in the town asks you for anything there's no garbage or weeds so it's like you're stuck in the same day for 48 hours. This happens to me about once a week.

I did get the note and the guy in the store had me go to the Mayor's assistant and have her order something. I have gone through all the steps that you have. The one difference is that I did dig up something in the middle of the stone circle and it was a note it is it's gear information. I think I was told to wait for something in order to use it, but I can't remember and nothing has happened.

I've tried to give this note to every town person and every person at the stores - the museum guy, the guy that you buy stuff from in the store, the guy you sell stuff to in the store the people in the bank the mayor's assistant and the clothing store clerk. I also tried giving the notes to the mayor' child and every merchant that shows up to sell something, and no one takes it.

You mentioned a riddle - I can't remember what it was, if it's about digging up something in the stone circle, I have done that and have the not that says gear information.
If anyone has gotten to this point and found something I'm missing, PLEASE, PLEASE share it with me grin

YES! I call them "Groundhog days". It does happen about once a week, it drives me nuts! Once I had just minimized it when the day was about to turn over, I thought that caused it, then I moved it to another platform and I thought that caused it, other than that I have no clue why it happens. It's happened without any cause at all, as far as I could tell. I hate it when it happens.

Things to look for: 1) did you alter the device clock? 2) did you start up the game when Internet connectivity was not available? 3) are you playing the latest version of the game?

If the answers are no, no, and yes, you should report these occurrences to Support so they can try to find the cause.

No clock alteration, our internet was spotty until they replaced the splitter a few days ago, and on the PC it's not the latest version but on the tablet it is (I have two games going) and I have groundhog days on both devices. Maybe it was the internet?

I have the latest version and my iPhone - if I did load the game without the wifi on
Then it tells you you have to connect once a day and when I do sometimes he game
Works and other times I have to wait another day to play.

Not being connected to Internet wh you load the game each morning, should not
put it in this mode of nothing happening for another day.

I think I might take the advise of the others and stick with playing the sims frown

Hi everyone, this used to happen to my game before the update. This happened when i play on "offline mode" for a long time. Then i received a "pop up " message saying i have to be connected to net atleast once. But after the recent updates this no longer happens to my game. As i was adbised as well before by Heather, try to not play the game in between 12 midnight to 5 a.m. If you need any further assistance and explanation, try contacting their tech support directly via "support" from the game,it should route you to your personal email, and they are very responsive to email. Hope this one could somehow help.

Hi misty-- yup i was able to dig up something on the stone circle as well and then i went to the museum guy, then he read the riddle like clue. I actually have the screenshot of the riddle (as i have been waiting since then to find out what its all about 😄😄) but as what mentioned to me the team is still working on the continuity of the storyline of the game.

The riddle goes like,an entity that happens every 40 years, etc.., i dont know still brainstorming on it though HAHAHA. Dont worry everyone who have finished everything in town is also waiting for a game update so that the storyline can now continue. So for now all we can do is to catch/sell bugs,do daily mayoral task, customized your town.

Well as of the moment there are new bugs coming out every week so something to look forward too. Im only missing 3 minerals,5 bugs and 6 plants. to complete thr museum collection.

I love all LDW games. I know VT is newer and updates are claimed to come. But after completing all basic task and quest, NM to do now.IDK what will be in update. The town needs more variety. More town upgrades/deco.A fun idea, maybe your mayor have a hobby to earn a lil pocket change when nothing else to do. Plus make the kids have more free will, not just an annoying clone of your every move. The description says like a living breathing town, but is far from it. Waiting for that update, fingers crossed.

Anyone know a timeline for the mayoral quest? I've dug up the note in the stone circle as others have said. I've taken the note to the curator (and I think I remember taking it to the town hall secretary but that may have been something I read on another forum) nothing new on the quest has happened since. I understand the game is still being developed but they need to make faster developments to keep people playing

That's about as far as the plot has got so far, although more developments are promised. No indication of when, though. frown

OMG it's tedious enough cleaning up my own town, I have no interest in cleaning up the towns of others

I just wish I could sell more than one thing at a time. I'd love to highlight all the apples and sell them all at once. I had 123 yesterday and 88 today (I don't think it counts golden apples, so more, really). It sucks dragging them all one at a time to the sell box. It's bad enough making so many trips. Love the money I get from it, though.

There is a forum dedicated to suggestions. Here's a link to the topic for VT suggestions.

I'm quickly losing interest in the game. If LDW doesn't update the game soon I may just delete it

I haven't been playing since a few weeks, and I just deleted the game. Great game concept, but I have the feeling that it was/is botched. It was released way too soon and the updates didn't make the game more interesting so far. I was really disappointed by the "huge update".

I'll keep checking here from time to time, but at that rate, the game will become great in 5 years and I'll have forgot about it grin

I'm just waiting for Vf3, now. It looks awesome wink

Maybe to buy and put in other places you placed flowers and food sources, that would be nice because then you wouldn't have to go with your waterering can wandering around all over the place to find all your flowers, food plants to water them.
