My take on this is that this is a long-playing game, even more so than other LDW games. If you've played VF you know that in the end game you have so much cash on hand that you just sort of ignore it. Finishing the house in VT is gonna be pricey. I can see trends even if I haven't finished the house. I saw a VT grand piano somewhere that was very expensive, and I want it. I need to go find that post again and note how much I have to save and hold in case I ever have the opportunity to buy it.

Anyway, I think these things are to keep some financial tension in the game, which will keep it interesting. At least for me, when it's just a matter of clicking/tapping a screen kind of mindlessly I have better things to do with my time.
