I traded in my Android device long ago, so I've yet to get an impression. What are your thoughts so far?

My thoughts are neutral so far.
I was expecting for a more Isola themed game but i think it won't be bad at all.

Virtual Town should be available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play before the end of the year.

We are sorry, but VF3 is taking longer than we thought it would, and it won't be out until next year sometime.

I downloaded game this morning and i LOVE that!
I heavily recommend it, i usually don't like 3D graphics so i wasn't sure about them but i LOVE it now! One of the best parts is it have some elements from previous LDW games.

I have some screenshots, in case you want to take a look what it looks like, you can check them.

Almost every LDW game has that opening grin

It's inside my house, but i think its a bit too large for me wink

It's reminds me the good old times of my childhood, remember playing Plant Tycoon frown

I've always been wonder what it tastes like laugh

The Bank texture is really different than one in the pre-Release picture Arthur shared.

I have much more but my Internet connection is really slow now, i'll upload them as soon as i have faster connection

Love the screenshots! I'll have to go compare your bank to the teaser pic.

Disappointing. Looks like us PC gamers are going to have to wait a while frown Based on screenshots (here and on the Previews page) this game looked interesting enough for me to consider buying it as well.

Oh well. LDW released other Android titles on PC as well, so maybe they'll decide to release this one too...

I saw photos of it o FB and came back here to do some more checking out what others thought. i by getting it on my iPad when it comes live as it says 2 weeks time. i also have google play and blues-tacks on my computer that i found that it android. If i downloaded it on my android after i put it on my ISO since the android belongs to google play and it not connected to Apple devices i have to pay twice?

The game looks real cool and i can't wait to try it out when its released.

After a few days, I have adopted a child and had 2 new people move in. I like how events pop up every once in a while along with weeds and garbage so that you don't get bored.

I'm having some difficulties in decorating my house, though. I currently have 2 wallclocks stuck on the floor and I can't find a way to get them off!
I would post a picture of this, except I don't know how to post pictures on here. How do you post pictures on here?

I just started playing this morning. So far, I like it. But have yet to really figure anything out. I purchased the upgrade tools and some veggie seeds, adopted a daughter, and now I'm hoping some people move in so I can repair the lake or bridge.

Oh you're lucky, there's still nobody moved in my town frown I'ts been 2 days since i finished lake but i'm still not able toincrease population. Today i planted two more trees (I had just one) so i hope my population increases soon and i can fix bridge.
And i'm also not able to decorate house, just like you. i just can't move furnitures.
And about sharing the pictures; it's much harder than PC games!
I downloaded a screenshot software from PlayStore and take some pictures. Then i transferred them to PC using a data cable. But you can also try to send via mail, or Google drive.

Have you planted flowers? You get seeds in the store. That and cutting grass was how I got a new person to move in.

The clock was really hard for me. I think the trigger point is in the lower left corner. I have to make myself be patient. Tap and hold and hope it goes green or try a slightly different spot.

I did an Internet search to learn how to take screen shots with my Kindle, then I used the cloud storage I got with Amazon Prime. A data cable would be a great idea but something is wrong with the USB ports on my computer. I gotta quit playing Virtual Town and um, maybe fix the computer?

I'm new here but, this game is pretty fun, a bit buggy but fun. I started yesterday and have already adopted a kid and have had two peeps move in. I just started a project on the lake too. The game is kinda like Animal crossing new leaf in a bunch of ways, if anyone is wondering what the gameplay is like. Also I was wondering what other peeps money making strategies are. I just grow a bunch of veggies and stuff.

Thanks for help with the clock!

Also, Dolce Dandy, my money making strategy is to catch bugs and sell them at the General Store.

I finally got two more people to move in. I think that's 5 people total?? I finished the lake. Was hoping for more hoopla when I finished. Now my peeps moved to repair the beach.

I love LDW's games, this game so far is no exception. I wish there was a little more management like being able to check on townspeople - and when they give me something, I wish there was a way to see exactly what they're giving me without having to guess from the inventory to see what's new. The exchange goes so fast.

I am stuck on wanting to move the fountain or upgrade it, but it seems I may have to pay to demolish it and buy another.
I've only been playing for 3 days so far, so every day there's a surprise or I figure something new out.
As far as money, I just buy coins and sell bugs.

One last thing, I can't figure out if it's worth it to pull the veggies. It seems if I just leave them there, they feed the town and I don't have to worry about running out of food. Not much incentive to pull and sell them ~ unless I'm missing something.

If you leave a space open on the part of your inventory that is always visible, anything you receive will go there first. Then you have to move it to free up the space again.

Virtual Town is available on Amazon's Appstore for Android now, and we hope to have it on Google Play next week.

It also became available on Apple's App Store for iOS devices last night.

Awesome! Does that mean you'll create the subforum?

Also, I think it's cool how there's a sign on the town hall that says "Merry Christmas" and how everybody's house has holiday lights on.

I wish I could play it. Everytime I download Virtual Town it says it downloads. But then when I try to get on it shows up with the loading screen then goes right back to my home page. I have tried redownloading it and turning off my iPod. But it hasn't worked..... Does anyone know how I can fix this? Any advice is appreciated.

Works perfectly on my iPhone 5C running iOS 8.4. A nice Animal Crossing-esque vibe. Slightly bothersome that you can't issue a command/direction while your character is performing an action (slows down the gameplay a bit), but it's easily overlooked. Definitely a game I'll be playing for quite a while... well done, LDW!

May0502, may I ask what model of iPod touch you are trying to play Virtual Town on? We have tested the game on some iPod touch 5th generation devices, and the game runs, but not well.

If your iPod touch is an older model, it may not be capable of running the game, unfortunately.

AriaSparkle, once we have the game available on Google Play, we will create a discussion forum for Virtual Town. We have too much work to do right now making the game available on the different app stores to set up the forum, but we will get it done.

Sure thing! You need lumber from cutting down 4 trees. (Note: you don't get more lumber if you cut down more trees.) Then go to Town Hall and Mrs. M will give you a deed to your house. Go back outside and tap on the deed to activate it (it will glow). That will give you an image of a house. Drag the house to any unoccupied lot, then tap on the green box to accept the placement.

I chose my lot first and walked my mayor over there before activating the deed so I didn't have to drag the image of the house anywhere. The style of house you get will be random, but you can either tap the deed on and off to look at different styles before you hit the green button, or change it later by buying house upgrades from the Bank.

hahaha, I feel like a hoarder with all this "stuff" that the towns-people give to me. Pizza, gumball machine, printer, box of tissues! haha! I'm holding on to it... just in case! smile

For anyone who has played Harvest Moon, it's like a mixture of old LDW games and Harvest moon. Or Animal Crossing, but haven't played that game as much... I think it's pretty cool so far. It scares me that I have yet to find a pause button I can fall back on, but at least I don't have to worry about peeps starving, just having no new mayor legacy. Different than anything I've seen in the apostore... I've actually been waiting for a game like this to reach the Appstore for awhile.

Actually, if you plan to be away from the game for many days and don't plant enough food, there is a possibility that one of the townsfolk could starve. Mrs. Mottershead should have mentioned that during the early part of the game. There are ways to prevent that, though, with a little advance planning. laugh

You're right, there is no pause (yet) in Virtual Town. We are considering adding that to the game, since all of our other games have a pause function. It's not simple to do, though, since Virtual Town is a much more complex game. We're not promising it will happen, but we're looking at it.

Hi! First off, great game so far! I had my doubts, but as always LDW shows how truly talented they are smile

Secondly, I am playing VT on my iPhone and earlier had harvested enough veggies to keep my town running for 6 days (or so it said) having up to about 12-15 of each crop, but when I checked back a few minutes ago I only had 1 or 2 in all... (with the red exclamation point over the cornucopia) would this be a bug or did they perhaps get the munchies?

Great work on the game!

We're very happy that you're enjoying Virtual Town!

You don't need to harvest the food that you plant if you don't want to. The townsfolk will help themselves to the food you planted around the town when they're hungry, just as the peeps in VV and VF do. You'll need to make sure that there is always sufficient fruit or veggies planted, so they don't run out of food.

If you do harvest and sell the food, the townsfolk can obtain the food you sold at the General Store, but only on the day you sold it. It is profitable to sell food, but you also need to make sure that you sell enough food each day to feed all of the townsfolk, or they will go hungry and begin to starve.

Is there a trick to adding the fountains? I try to place it but I just lay it down and can pick it up.... If there is a trick and I need to figure it out, I'm good with that answer too smile

There are places that you cannot put a fountain, notably in the center of Town Square which is where everyone wants to put it! grin If you can't place it, the banner message across the top will say "You cannot place that here!" and there will be a red "Cancel" button on the left side of the screen. (If the Cancel button doesn't work, drag the fountain to a place where it is okay, then the Cancel button will work.) My example is with a streetlight, not a fountain.

If it's in a legal place, the top banner will say "Placing New Feature." and on the left side of the screen you will have three buttons: a green one saying "Tap Here to Confirm Position", another green circle with arrows that rotates the item, and the red Cancel button. Tap the one that says Tap Here to Confirm Position if you are satisfied with the position AND rotation of the item.

The first time I placed a Butterfly Crossing sign, I didn't know to rotate it so I ended up looking at the back of the sign. Unfortunately, once an item is placed it can't be moved (wishlist!) so be sure you like the placement.

You have to tap the scroll in your inventory, JoyLynn, before you can start to place it (see Aviatrix's screen captures).

Yes, an item can't be moved frown You can only demolish it and then you have to buy it again to place it right wink

Playing the game on Kindle Fire HDX 7 and loving it so far.

Beautiful game, the graphics are awesome, the game play is interesting and fun.

Couple of gripes...

1) Why the internet connection required every single day? I do not see any changes to the shop inventory or anything changing after connecting. This is the one and only thing that may force myself and others to uninstall. It is not always possible to be online daily and here you are literally blocked from playing the game if you do not connect to WIFI daily.

2) Lack of info. I just spent the last 20 mins scouring the web and this site for detailed info on the game. Basically I have forgotten how/where to gather minerals. I have been round and round the town looking and into the 'help' menu in the game and on the net and cannot find the answer to how to do this very basic thing.

Would be really helpful to have more 'help' info in the game 'Help' screen itself, because the basics of actually playing the game are told to you by the mayor's assistant and then that is it. There is no reference manual to check back on so if you don't remember the barrage of info you got on starting the game, you seem to be out of luck.

Something that describes how and where to use each tool would be really helpful.

3) Other then that I have the same complaints everyone else has...lack of money, tools that break far too soon, grouchy and 'unsupportive of their new Mayor' residents.

All in all it is an awesome game and awesome to have a new game from LDAW, I have had almost 500 different generations on Virtual Families 2 over a fair few installs of the game on my Kindle. Looking forward to 500 generations of Mayors.

Hi Dubious,

The way to find minerals is to use your pick axe on the knee high round stones that show up scattered around town. You will also receive some from various residents for fulfilling their wishes. The gold stones need a silver or better pick axe to open.

As far as help in the game goes, the little gear on the top right side will open a menu with a help icon. Tapping on it will give you a refresher course on the basics. The rest I think we are meant to discover on our own. Kind of a trademark LDW thing to make the game a little of a puzzle.

I am annoyed by my residents too, but have realized that they have meters when I interact with them. Over time those meters are going up for me as I fulfill their wishes. I think that is part of the game. They are annoyed because the last mayor left them and it is our job to restore their faith over time.

I hope that helps a bit. It is a newer game, so I think as time goes on, more user info will be shared as people unlock the puzzles and hopefully don't put out too many spoilers, just hints for us if we need them. 😄

CindyO, I will sometimes answer a specific question via PM so as not to put spoilers out there. I find it a lot more fun to play the game and discover stuff, but based on what I read on the Facebook page, there are a LOT of people who want a roadmap of every single tap they should make before they interact with the game at all. I think those people should get a job doing data entry because they'd just be tapping numbers and letters into a form, which is apparently how they have fun.

Dubious, nothing is going to be out there on the Internet just yet as the game is brand new. However, there are several places to get help from fellow players. This forum is an excellent place as it doesn't have all the noise and spoilers you will see on the Facebook page. Several of us read here daily and will try to help when we can. Check your PMs here for another comment on your questions.

So far I love Virtual Town. I don't think that will change having played VF2. I started a new game fom Google Play and using my experience from IOS to designed my town more effeciently and cost effectively. Thanks to Aviatrix, Xay and others on this site, I invested in an orchard of 30 pears, apple and orange trees located near the pond in town. I am using the Botanical Gardens for vegetables and flowers. I find that I'm taking my time to explore and enjoy the game including the "snarky" townspeople. I look forward to the changes that will be added as the game progesses. grin

Thanks for the info that is very helpful. smile

I see the problem now. None of those stones have turned up in my town at all since the tutorial one and I am four days into the game.

Yes that is the 'Help' screen I am referring too. It gives general information but is not detailed enough. Take my scenario, a simple...

'Find minerals by using the pick axe on round stones scattered about the town' would have solved my dilemma. As it was I was hacking away at boulders in the perimeter walls because I didn't know that it was actually a bug I was experiencing with mineral rocks not appearing.

I think it's so great that we all start knowing absolutely nothing about the game, but by communicating over the forums, we learn and grow together. It's such a wonderful concept to me smile

VT is sort of a combination of an adventure game and a tycoon game. There are elements of farming games and collection games. If you play steadily, you will run out of things to do on some days and then it seems like "walking around in circles". Other days you'll be pressed to finish the day's tasks and still manage to tend to your real-life job, housekeeping, and car payments. Some people really enjoy this sort of game, and others have different preferences - if you really love time management games above all, VT will be a real stumper for you because it is a long view game. You can't blaze through it. Here are some comments specific to your state in the game right now (hidden because there are spoilers):
Click to reveal..
Did you plant the seed? It will take about a day to grow into a mature plant. After that, pick it, because someone wants it. Take it to different people in the various town businesses until you find the right person. This sub-plot is the first of a set of puzzles that reveal the story line to you.

Are you hiring your townspeople to work on projects? Currently the lake needs work and the bridge is broken. Click on the signs that say "Beware" near these features to learn more. Each town project takes several real-time days to finish. While that is going on, you can build your bank balance by catching bugs and doing whatever Mrs. Mottershead asks you to do.

You will need coins to progress in the game, so take note of what each project costs per day and set that aside, then spend as you wish in the General Store and on Town Upgrades, which are purchased in Town Hall. You can also buy House Upgrades in the Bank and later you will be able to buy clothing in the Boutique.

Try to find one of each bug, mineral, and plant to donate to the Museum. Keep your town clean by cutting grass, filling holes (plant veggies in them or use the shovel to fill them), and picking up trash.

Watch the meter over on the left side. As it goes up, you will get additional townspeople if you have enough food for them as well. One veggie plant or one mature fruit is equal to one food source. If you tap on the meter it will tell you how many food sources you need. For instance, if you need 7 food sources, you need 7 carrots, or 3 carrots and 4 potatoes, or 2 carrots, 2 potatoes, and 3 tomatoes - anything that equals 7. Fruit trees don't bear fruit every day so I don't count on them for my totals, although they do count.

Hope that helps!

The townspeople keep asking for things but when I find the items I cannot figure out how to give it to them. I've tried clicking on the item in my inventory and dropping it on them and clicking on the item and dragging it to the mayor and nothing works. Is this a glitch or is there a trick to it?

Hi Kelly,

When you have the item your town person requested, you must then approach them and tap on that person to initiate a conversation. They will realize you have the item and your inventory will open, then you can tap on the item to pass it to them. The townies have bubbles over their head with the item picture so you can verify you have their item.

Hope that helps!

Cindy

Alice, unfortunately the iPod touch 4th generation doesn't have the hardware resources necessary to run Virtual Town. I have tested the game on mine, and it crashes while trying to load.

I'm bored with it.

1. there's not enough to do and tools break too easy
2. coins are too hard to get at beginning levels.
3. Only one child and no real interactions with the child.

Because there's very little to do, and tools break so fast, I am forced to do one of two things: put the game down for long periods of time so events can generate or buy coins with real world money. And while I DO spend quite a bit of real world money in games that I stay engaged with, I'm not spending a single cent on this game. Not until there's a whole lot more to do, and it doesn't feel like I'm being forced to spend money in order to play.

Money is easy to get for me, but I've been playing awhile. Now they pay me $1100 at town hall to catch bugs or whatever, and the cave is very profitable.
The trick is not to bother with furniture (except a cheap bookcase to store things) or enlarging your house until your income is up.
Making sure you check in a few times a day for the town hall assignments helps, too. Also, fruit trees are a good investment, I'm making 1000-3000 a day selling fruit.
I recommend enacting ordinances to save money in the store and on town projects, too.

The growth time for kids is really messed up.

The game states everyone ages a year for each real time day. However in reality, that's not the case.

I adopted a child and she started at age four. Now, I will play the game and then close the client several times a day. Because of this (at least I think this was the cause), in the 4 real time days it took the town to clean up the lake, the child went from age 4 to age 20. That needs to be fixed.

Hi crystalwizard. I'm afraid there has been some kind of misunderstanding. The game states that everyone in Virtual Town gets older each day (see attachment). Can you show me a screen capture of what you saw?

I enjoy it although all the towns people should age with their mayor and the mayor's adopted child. You could population wise do that by having the town population be able to mate with each other and have children of their own. Plus I would like to be able to play with the mayor and their children as they age even after they retire. Maybe rather than retirement island you could have a retirement home to check on the retired mayors and the elderly retired towns people. Then you could have the mayor, the mayor's children, and the towns people gradually age past 60 years old to anywhere between 90 years old and 120+ years old at the max. So a little slower rate of aging process of wrinkles being added with additional types of wrinkles, age spots, and age warts work their way in. And once the hair heads toward silvery grey and\or white the hair starts thinning and shortening until they are almost completely bald.

I am partly suggesting this because despite what the game says not everyone ages in fact it is just the mayor and their children that ages everyone else stays the same age throughout entire generations of the mayors and their children.

Please make an update to virtual town, please, I'm willing to invest in this game but I need proof it's not a 5 day game. Fix the bugs from August 2015, add features like fishing, better graphics and please update your game!! Not gonna lie, if I cant get an update on this one game 5 years later, I'm thinking you guys CANT update your game. Is there any plans for VT?

Thank you for your message, and for being a fan of the game!

It appears there may be an issue with the server(s) hosting Virtual Town.

Hi Bethany, our team is currently investigating the situation and are working to resolve it as fast as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and urge you to check back as they update the game.

Regarding updates, there is one being worked on that we hope to release soon, but I can't say when that might be.

Let us know if you have any other questions and thanks for playing!

Hi! I started playing Virtual Town a couple of months ago. I love it, although it's really hard to keep up with it. Especially cutting the weeds. The weeds grow way too fast. I have stopped playing recently. I know there is a mystery. I had the bridge fixed and the stone circle. I got the part for the I think it was the clock. That is all done with. Is there going to be more things for the mystery? I have been waiting for that.
