So I got both pure body (bathe with soap) and pure mind (meditate by the wind flutes) and then had her honor the tree. Seems that I'm missing something, do I need to have certain levels of research?

You don't have to honor the tree. Make a peep pure of mind and body, then take them to the tree.

I assume you have to have all 12 wind pipe pieces for meditation to work. I've got nine but those last three REFUSE to show up!

You don't need all the wind flutes to meditate. Place a villager in the middle of the flutes and he will sit down and meditate. Note that if anyone goes near the villager, he will be distracted. Wait until the villager stands up and has yellow dots around his head, then drag him into the pond (make sure it is soapy). He will then have white sparkles around him as well. Drag him to the tree and he will bring a beetle to the fire and the tree will be purified.

You dont need all flute to meditate !

It doesn't work for me... By the time they're done meditating and the lake is soapy and they're in it, the meditation goes away.

I had puzzle nine solved first, to bring more rest in the area then meditate, then take peep to the soap and let him make a bath, when bubbles push him in. when bubbles gone, take him out and to the tree

Yea, you don't need all the flutes in place to meditate.
I did it with just 9 or 10.
Keep the kids away from the area while you're meditating, otherwise they will interrupt the person trying to meditate

getting your villager to meditate if you have a lot of children in the village: have a master parent teach the children in the nursery school and make sure none of the builders are clearing the debris.

I'm having a kind of similar problems maggiesmum...I had my oldest person in the village become pure of mind and body, and started him purifying the tree. Just as he got to the fire with the bug, he dropped dead of old age. Since then I can't get ANYONE to be pure of mind and body at the same time. If they're clean, they lose it as soon as they start meditating. If they're pure of mind, they lose THAT as soon as I drop them in the soapy water.

You have to do 'purify mind first'. Let it finish, i.e. wait until the vllager no longer says 'Purifying..'. Any villager coming into the area will abort the meditation so have your finger on the space bar, ready to PAUSE and remove anyone incoming. Having the kiddies in the nursery school helps somewhat.
Then go put the soap in the pond and get clean. Again, be sure you let him finish. And, keep your fire going.

Had 3 teachers in school, put oldest male in corner with flutes, made sure there was soap, made sure the kids were in school, kept moving the teachers, once oldest male had yellow sparkles, picked him up to get the soap, no one else in pool, put him the pool, kept the kids busy in school, once he had yellow and white sparkels and he gets out of the pool, moved him to the tree, then the game took over. good luck, especially with the kids.

The nursery is Puzzle 9.

What you’ll need before attempting to solve this puzzle:

• Dendrology technology Level 3
• Puzzles 2, 4 and 9 complete (which you have already completed)
• Soap (Make sure you have extra in case you need to try to achieve “Pure of body” multiple times)
• Fire burning in the fire pit
• A teacher teaching in the school (the more skills the teacher has, the longer the children will stay in the school)

For “Pure of mind”:
- Remove all villagers from the upper-level of the village (between the Tree of Life and the wind flutes) and keep them away while the villager is meditating. You don’t want anyone working on removing debris from the stream nor anyone walking around up there that could possibly disturb the villager you want to meditate. Keep villagers off of the stairs leading up to the wind flutes as well.
- Consider assigning your Builders to Farming or Research temporarily so they will be less likely to choose to clear the debris in the stream while your villager is meditating.
- To keep the children occupied, drop a skilled teacher in the school. All of the children will run to the school, thus not disturb the meditating villager. If the children start to run off, drop the teacher in the school again.
- Drop any adult villager by the wind flutes on the cliff until they start to meditate. The meditation process can last several minutes so be sure to keep all villagers away.
- Once the meditation is complete, you will see yellow sparkles on the villager for a few minutes, indicating that they are pure of mind.
- If the villager gets disturbed and stops meditating, you’ll need to start the meditation process again.

For “Pure of body”:
- Drop the villager who is “pure of mind” on the stack of soap, and they will put one of the bars of soap into the pond to make a nice, soapy bath.
- When the pond is soapy, drop the “pure of mind” villager into the pond, and they will swim around in the sudsy water until they are clean. Do not take them out of the water unless they are “Pure of body.” They may even leave the pond on their own.
- A clean villager will have white sparkles on them for a few minutes.

When the villager is both pure of mind and pure of body, immediately drop them onto the hole in the tree. You will need to have a fire lit at this stage, because the villager will go into the tree, remove the source of the corruption and throw it into the fire to destroy it! It's important not to disturb the villager while they are taking the item to the fire. If you do then the puzzle will not complete and you'll need to start the meditation and soapy bath process over again.

If the villager is unable to enter the tree it means that they are no longer pure of mind and pure of body and you’ll need to start the meditation and soapy bath process over again.

If your villager still won’t meditate, try dropping them by the wind flutes in the very back (there’s a row of 4 right against the mountain, near the cliff).
