We are both so excited about being able to choose our own tribe! laugh

What a great team we have working for our enjoyment, thanks to everyone involved! And the wait was well worth it, especially seeing it was because an even more important launch! Cute cute baby.

The island looks like the best one yet. I can't wait to dive in and find the secrets but I'm gonna have to practice some tough disipline on myself next week. Moving the following weekend so I can't get the game because I will never get moved if I buy it before hand! Ah, what a great way to unwind and relieve the stress afterwards!

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Havoria: *talking in a weatherwoman's voice* Monday there will be chances of serious forum and main site server down age
And later on Monday evening going into Tuesday, there will either be a chilling silence streak on the forums due to playing the game.

But on Wednesday there will be HIGH chances of the forums busting to the seems and causing a universal flood

For the weekend report, forget about getting to any of the forums on LDW as the rushing traffic will be paralysis to even travel in. The best thing to do is to stay at home and play VV4 This has been Havoria on the 11:00 clock news, now back to you, K

Seriously though I'm extremely hyped about the game, and the baby is so cute!!

This is awesome! I'm so curious about the game now! I can't wait to try it!!!!
As soon as I saw the video I literally almost shouted "The VV4 preview video is up! EEE!" And I was flailing and fangirling all over the place.
I can only hope my family doesn't lock me up before the game comes out!

Your little boy is so adorable!

I loved getting to see the whole island, which looks fantastic. When the Map button was clicked my eyes nearly popped out of my head; I hadn't expected to see the whole map!

Thanks for the preview, it was awesome. I always enjoy seeing the videos and I think things like that make LDW more accessible than a lot of other game companies where you don't have a clue who is behind the games.

I was all excited when I saw that the preview video was available and rushed to watch it. But alas--though I tried several times, when I clicked on the link all I got was "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page." (This happens a lot when I click on links.) I tried typing the URL in and got the same thing. I sure hope that when the game does come out I will be able to play it.

I have to ask. What does "fangirling" mean? I looked it up, but couldn't find it.

@Carla and Arthur. Thanks for the preveiw. The game looks sweet. Worth the wait? I'll let you know after I get it Monday.

P.S. Cute kid.

Yes it kind of looked that way to me too. If we can it will be neat. Saw what I think may be the door to the mausoleum in the upper left corner. The one thing I didn't see though was a food source so maybe all we will have is fishing to start. I didn't notice a place for crops either. Oh well will have to explore the whole thing once I get it.

Ditto. However, it's great alliteration, though. Ever thought about writing poetry? wink

Bah Humbug! mad

The firewall here on my office computer doesn't allow us to access YouTube so I'll have to wait a whole seven hours at least before I get to see the video! I see that a couple of others can't access the video either; if they are at work they might have similarly miserable employers. smile There's also the possibility parental control software might be set not to allow YouTube on home computers.

Still, seven hours is less time to wait than for the release. wink

I don't think that fangirling is an actual word. It is probably a word Krystal made up to mean acting like a "fan-girl"... just my guess.

fangirling totally discribes the feeling perfectly though laugh

a fan also blows fresh air so you see a girly (in this case) fan floating around the house expressing joy about the upcoming game ...

feel the same way YAAA HIIIIIIII grin

Fangirling:
"V. To make loud high pitched noises (this includes squealing, yelling, or talking so quickly that it doesn’t sound like they are actually speaking a real language) or show their excitement for the object of their obsession though movement (this includes jumping up and down, glomping, running in circles, etc.). Fangirling involves a lot of physical action."

That's pretty much a perfect definition.

Thank you and congratulations Carla and Arthur!! The video is just great smile

After the initial excitement and some gentle 'fangirling' wink I am now scratching my head, wondering what time VV4:The Tree of Life will be released and trying to work out the time difference. confused I might have to wait until Tuesday in Australia!!

Francesco is just gorgeous and well worth the 2 months delay smile

Again, we'll ask very nicely that you stay on subject. Some people are annoyed over the amount of editing/deleting that's been done so far, but I assure you it could be much more.

Our goal is NOT to be a bunch of mean old moderators, but we do intend very much to keep this forum clean and on track.

This thread is intended to be about the sneak peek video. Your comments should relate to that subject.

Thank You for your cooperation.

Wow! This game looks awesome! Can't wait to get it! I really appreciate Arthur taking the time to personally introduce us to the game and to introduce us to his son. I've never seen another game developer do that and it makes me realize what a special company LDW is. You put love, care, hard work, and time into your games and it shows.

Yeah! I finally got to watch the preview video. I don't know what the problem was (see previous post), but just for the heck of it I clicked on the link again tonight and got through. Like the rest of you, I can't wait to play this new chapter of Virtual Villagers.

Thank you Arthur, now we can put a face with the name, lol. Cute baby too!

The video should be viewable on either browser. If you are having trouble seeing the link, try this one. If that don't work, you should check your firewall & security settings.

With the size and shape of the bones- especially the jawbones- I believe it is some sort of whale.

I noticed that on the map, there seems to be a large empty area in the southwest. I wonder what it's for...

And they reused the coolest tree from VV3!!! The banana tree!!! Yes!

Thank you for your diligent work on the newest VV game. I'm sure it's been quite a journey nurturing both your lil guy and the game, and we know that both take much time and patience. While I'm just as excited as everyone here to meet my new villager family, it is as exciting to me to know that you have both been busy with your newest miracle, Francesco. Thank you again for your hard work to please us VV fans, and I leave you with this quote, which makes the newest release that much more memorable

"People who say they sleep like a baby usually don't have one".

I am really excited, and wanted to discuss this game. To bad the thread I made to do so was merged with this one. Who wants to read through 7 pages of people saying "looks great" just to find the 2 or 3 posts that say "did you see...".

Ah well.

As you know Arthur posted a video on the soon-to-come VV4!!!! While he was scrolling around the 'gameworld' I saw pegs sticking out of the ground-they were colored-. I thinks it is possibly a bridge? What do you think it is?

PS. I rewatched the video and when Arthurs 'hand' hit the construction sights the bridge part said stream obstruction: 100.

Here's to Brainstorming!!

Click to reveal..
I do not know about a bridge but if you look closely as he scrolls over the site where "stream obstruction 100%" comes up there is a empty stream bed that flows to the tree. Then if you look around the tree there is sort of the same thing that then flows around each side to a little pool which then falls into another pool that connects to that empty river bed that leads out on the left hand side. There may come for a need to build a bridge after that stream is flowing. Also when he scrolled over the "main hut" it asked for "3 more herbs". Right next to the pot is a grill and what may be a sifting box( heres hoping). I'm hoping that the main hut can have a roof built over it or everyones gonna be getting a little wet. As for the poles on the cliff, I have not a clue.

I noticed that there's a lot of dry streambed in the game. It appears to me that once we get that obstruction out of the way the water will not only go to the tree, but also pool in a couple of areas and flow through the village.

In the lower right of the map, below the dock, there seems to be a Lagoon. Below that I could just make out a statue of a fish. Maybe a fountain?

When the whole map was shown, I could see something in the lower left, but couldn't make it out. Can anyone make it out?

Two trees and some kind of building maybe?

Thanks to Havoria for the picture.

See this thread. Arthur has said that it won't be released in the morning, so at best it won't be for several hours yet. He also warned that it might even get bumped to Tuesday or Wednesday if they encounter problems.

I mean no disrespect at all in saying this, but asking every second and griping that the game isn't out yet, 'in my opinion' is rude, and does nothing more than compound their stress level in trying to please us. The LDW team hasn't let us down yet, and whether it's today, tonight or a week from now, it WILL be worth the patience they are due.
