Hi all! I have a few tips for those of you who would like to make a request for a combo of rooms or house items by different artists.

First, check to be sure a combo like the one you want has not already been posted in the mod forum.

Second, if you can include your current maps or the maps of the rooms you want combined it really speeds things up for the person doing the combining. The mod forum is filling up very nicely, but this has also made it much more difficult to find the correct maps to use for a person's request. Maps cannot be attached to a pm, so you will need to upload them to a free image hosting service to do this. Or, just include a link to the artist's original posting of the room/s in the mod forum.

Third, the place to make your request is here, in the Mod Discussion Forum or in private message (pm) to a mod-maker. Please don't post them in the main Mod Forum, as that is only to be used for posting mods.

Hopefully one day the mod forum will grow enough that we will have subforums to place them into categories that will help to locate them faster. Until then, please consider doing the above to help us a out a bit. smile

I know most of us are very willing to fulfill requests when we can and we get a lot of joy from helping others make their little families' homes extra special. There are quite a lot of you to please, so anything you can do to help us speed that process up allows us to please more people. laugh

Thanks for reading!

That is a really good suggestion BB. It is getting harder to find a specific mod. Like you say, maybe as it gets bigger they will put them in categories for us. I just want to say to all of you a big thank you for not only giving us great mods, but helping us patch together the things we love. It is much appreciated.

Just a note that might help:

If you are having difficulty finding a mod, go to the top of the forums, click the Search button, go to Advanced.

Once that page opens, on the left hand side, scroll until you find "Virtual Families Mods". Make sure it is highlighted.

For the search range, make it newer than 5 months.

Make sure the radio button for subject and body is clicked, then type in your search term (such as "Pool").

Alternately, if you are searching for a specific person's mod, go to the Display Name Search, and type in that person's name there.

Once you click Submit, you'll have a list of those topics *only* in the VF mod forum that have the word "pool" (or by a specific person).

When you do a search try to pick something unique that will help weed out unwanted mods (example: Don't type "living room", because you'll get lots of results.)

This should help narrow down searches.
