Granted, I haven't played around with GIMP much, but I can patch mods together that I like, so I don't have to request each one. I can add little things to the maps, I just haven't figured out how to actually change the rooms, wall color, stuff like that.

Oh, hmmm.... I really need to do some screenies for that. Putting that into words might not be so easy to understand without the pics to follow along. I will try to get it done as soon as I finish the tropical bath. I can tell you this for now though:

The first thing I do after I get a new "room" file separate from the entire map is break it down into layers. I actually start with the wall or floor - go carefully around them with the selection tool while zoomed, and copy them to a new layer. Next I do the objects that I am going to work on. For example, to create a new bed, I copy the old bed to a new layer on top of the blank floor (a copy of the floor filled in with a solid color.) I create a "new bed" layer on top of the copy of the old bed and start drawing. When I come to something that needs to be placed above or below something else, like pillows, I create another layer for them so I can move them as I need to. I hope that makes sense. I'll try to be a little more detailed and put up some screens soon. smile

Thanks BB!! That makes a lot of sense! I'll have to play around with it!

You are always welcome! Yes, that's the best way to learn it. lol Just make sure to never touch your backup files and don't be afraid to just try different things. As long as you have your backups, you can't mess anything up. And "Undo" is such a wonderful thing... hehe

laugh Yeah, I've figured that function out REALLY well!! It's frustrating, but I've found a few GIMP tutorials online that I'm going to look at tomorrow when I'm done babysitting.

What sites have you found for Gimp that you guys find the most helpful. I want to learn how to merge my rooms so that I am not bugging people and I want to learn how to add images like plants and flowers and stuff like that. There are so many sites of what I have found to just be junk.

A good tutorial site

A good image site

Sorry Pebbles. blush I haven't looked at the ones I bookmarked yet. I babysat extra kids yesterday and the night before, so I just chilled last night. smile As soon as I find something I'll let you know.

BB, quick question. You said to work with the blank floor. How do I get to that? I started playing with it last night, but was too tired and ended up stopping. Do I need to do the whole layer thing to get the blank floor? Thanks! blush
