Fervently seconded, VillageIdiot... Imagine free will and no Planned Parenthood advisors on hand! Yikes!

The villagers already pick flowers and take them to the gravesite. And if you go to your details screen, look for the nursing mother and it lets you know how long they have keft to nurse.

Those comments were made before Virtual Villagers was released. You can't see how long a mother is nursing in Village Sim (which was the only version available when that part of the thread was posted).

Quote:

They could go to the graveyard sometimes and mourn the dead or take them flowers.

They do in the game I'm playing. They also take flowers to the restored temple sometimes.

Quote:

They should also be able to PLAY with or TEACH the kids, giving them more master parent points.

Some of them wander through the village "teaching" (or at least it said so when I clicked on a few to find out what they were doing).

Quote:

When are they able to build a latrine? (I'm only up to level 2 in everything)

I've got level 3 in everything twice and they haven't yet .

I also would like it if there were some way to tell how much longer a nursing mother has to nurse---something like you can tell what % complete the housing is. Maybe it would say her nursing period is X% complete.

That's a good idea.

I don't think it's right giving people "skill" for going to the love shack.
Being a parent isn't based on how many times you.. yaknow.
So I think "playing with child" or "taking care of child" would be better options.

porcelianxX, I think you are right about the parenting skill. Maybe it should be labeled Breeding instead of parenting, but I think that would be inappropriate as well. Well it does correspond to what skill they are learning, but not the right ideal they are trying to project, if that makes sense. I think they were/are just trying to keep the label PG, and hoping we really know what skill they are talking about.

I've actually had a few that once they were taught will breed on their own without that being clicked as their favored activity.

Just as long as there is absolutely, possitively no marriage other then harem type, I'm happy.

But it would be nice to see the GC grow up, have babies, and die!

And what about the happiness of others who would like to see a non-harem marriage?

Jami's idea is a good one. I would like to see the GC get older too - especially to become a parent and maybe pass skills on to the next generation or teach them to the village kids.
