On the 23rd, I posted a topic 'need computer help' in the off topic Discussion thread. I know this is not a LDW related problem, But i would really appreciate some help. Several people tried to help me, and we thought that my computer was fixed. My computer keeps crashing. On the BSOD it tells me NVLDDMKM.SYS, I was told this is a video driver problem and was given a driver to download. It helped Until today. I turned on my game when i woke up this morning and it wasn't on for maybe 5 min. and my computer crashed "nvlddmkm.sys" again. I have been talking to other people on the forums and they told me that i will probably have to replace my computer. My computer is about a Year old. Is there anything else i can try before going out and buying another computer? Also, i don't know if it matters but i mentioned in my other post that My Recovery(D:) drive is running out of free space It is now at 307MB free out of 9.99 GB. Could this possibly have anything to do with it crashing? I have already Deleted all Pictures, videos, Games, and all programs that i dont use trying to free up space, Nothing seems to be helping. I have ran virus scan after virus scan, Deleted all Temp files, Cookies etc. I dont know what else to try. I have also done Defrags. Any advice is much appreciated. SPECS: Vista AMD Athlon 64X@ Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30GHz 2.00GB (RAM) 32-bit Operating System.
I am so Frustrated, If there is anything anyone might be able to do to help, It is Very much appreciated. Thanks so much, In advance.

I agree with Xay -- don't just go buy a brand new computer. I would probably be less expensive to pay to have a computer repair expert fix it than it would be to buy a new computer. At least call around and see what you can find out. Good luck, and I hope you can get it fixed for really cheap.

Ok, My computer just crashed again. i am fed up with it.. So i was wondering is there any way to disable the NVLDDMKM.sys driver? If i were to do this how long (if at all ) would it be a temp. fix? And would i still be able to play my VV and VF games... I am going to buy a new computer. but until i can would this work? All i want to be able to do is play my games. ANY help is very much appreciated. and sorry i am being such a pain about my computer. i am just so frustrated with it. BTW Xay and Simsane, thank you for your response. I took my computer to a repair shop and described what it was doing. they told me that it would be probably around 400 dollars to fix it. I feel that if i am going to spend that much i might as well replace it completly... Thanks again.

If you disable that video driver, your video card will no longer work properly, and you would likely not be able to play the games. Every hardware device from audio and video adapters to printers and scanners needs a driver so that Windows knows how to "talk" to it. Have you tried seeing what DXDiag says when you run those tests? I didn't see everything that everyone suggested to you before.

yes, Hav had me do that when i first mentioned the problem. It said there were no problems. Hav had me give information about my graphics card also and at first she thought the Graphic card was fine. but when it started messing up again She was not so sure... Thanks for the info Lady. I am glad i didnt just try to disable it on my own...

Yes, I agree. I don't understand how it messed up. I have a Perfect computer other than i cant play my VF for more than five min at a time. Sometimes less than that. I love my computer, i am just so frustrated that i don't know what else to do. I don't know anyone that could help me replace it. I know (what i thought was quite a bit) about computers and friends and family usually come to me for help. I think that is why this is bothering me so bad. There has never been a problem that i couldn't fix...Until now. I appreciate all the help all of you have given me. The people here are wonderful! As it seems there is nothing i will be able to do on my own, I will quit asking questions. However, if anyone thinks anything should be added or would like to try, It will still be Much appreciated. Thank you soo Much Lady. Your the best!
