Well, it could be like "watering the field." The doctors do it on their own, but you can still select other villagers to help by picking them up and bringing them to a skelaton.
If it was a memorial service, then they should all gather at the graveyard, not try to pickup a skelaton and then shrug and go on to their next task. (Yes, I know you were just trying to make sense of it, like the love shack/maternity ward/fertility clinic, but the way they all stop to bury the dead does get tiresome...
I especially feel sorry for when some of the skelatons are brought to the graveyard and the GC calls a party. The people just drop the skelatons on the spot and start dancing!

How about 'gathering wood' for the huts or a boat(for the escape)? I like the 'missing person who died', but don't forget about the ones who ran off and never came back! Since they are by the ocean, why not 'sees a shark/jellyfish, etc.' then warns everyone to get out of the ocean? That would be hilarious to see them all "running away"! I've always hoped that in my games, one of them would try to 'climb the wall' to see what was on the other side, I know y'all have, too!

Maybe the kids should have a pet, and be able to play with it. How about if they make up games, like 'kick the rock', 'swing on the vine'(if there is one), or 'hoop and stick' like grammy and grampy used to play when "they had no money and had to use sticks and rocks as toys!"

Can the little brats "learn" to pick mushrooms on their own? The've gotta be good for more that getting in the way and peeing on the flower garden!

No, the children will only pick mushrooms that they are plopped onto. That's how the game is designed to work.

I think that spdytypr88 was asking if that could be an improvement in VV2 (or VV3???)
i.e. they ignore mushrooms until they are "taught." the first time. Then after that they will pick a mushroom if they are within 5 pixels of one. The next time, 10 pixels, and so on... (or even just increase the range one pixel at a time.) That way they start small, but improve as they gain experience (like researcher's tech points...)

I like that idea. It is farmer training early on.

Correct me if I'm wrong here - but my understanding is that the mushrooms were created precisely because they had to be monitored by the player at all times. I mean, I thought their purpose was giving the player something to actually do while all the adult villagers were getting along fine by themselves. Making the children able to learn to do it themselves would defeat this purpose (if this is the purpose).
