Can casual game Virtual Families take a chunk out of The Sims?

There's a very good picture of Arthur and Carla, plus a couple of screenshots.

Thank you for posting this article Arnie, I really enjoyed it and the picture of Arthur and Carla too. I just hope they realize that us forty-somethings enjoy the games too.

I still have that picture (which was taken with my camera). I was in the picture, too, but was removed for obvious reasons! grin

Actually that is the first public picture I have seen of the elusive Carla. grin LadyCFII, It looks like you visited on a chillier day than when my wife and I visited them. Gotta love the varied weather of San Fran.

Here is the reply I posted on that site
Quote:
I play several of EA's games, but never could get into the Sims. This game, like most LDW games, gives me the ability to either micro or macro manage based on MY whims/time. With the Sims (and most "core" games) you have no alternative but to micromanage to the point of distraction.

You might think I'm "prejudiced" in my opinion, since I am a moderator on the LDW forum, but that simply isn't the case. I am a fairly varied game player with over a 140 games at my disposal. I play everything from match 3 games to full blown shoot 'em ups. I love those games, and look forward to expanding my collection as time and money allow.

I spend $10 to $60 for a game that brings me a few hours (in some cases days) of intense gaming, then stick 'em on the shelf until the next version (or game) comes along. With LDW, for a mere Twenty Bucks, I can buy a nice; peaceful; casual game to provide me with months of relaxing play. Quite a nice change of pace if you ask me.
