You should be able to 'zoom', without having to actually enlarge the image. The windows picture and fax viewer, which is the default for opening most images, (urg,) should zoom just fine, as should paint, if you need to use that.

I my first tribe I got all villagers with black hair and 2 female with pure blond hair born from 2 black haired parents. I got the screen shot in an other thred. The 2 blonds are heads 30 and 29.

Having completed, several times VV# [except for those goofy, frustrating collectibles] playing with the 'genetics' aspect is the fun part of the game for me. However, unless you are lucky enough to start out with a couple of 30's or 1/2's, those are by far the hardest head types to produce [or breed }.
It might be fun to start a thread re our favorite genetic factored villages. Know that I am always trying for about 6 specific gals...kinda have to take the guys as they come. Hardly ever have to deal with the redheads anymore, tho should probably do a tribe of just those, I guess. Most recent endeavor was developing [or that breeding bit again] brunettes from a totally blond group.....well, except for one chestnut haired guy. One day 2 blondes had a lovely #7 black haired girl. What to do? Chestnut hair came into play and was a great success....now have a smaller group of brunettes amongst my blondes. \:\)

example:

12m+13f=25
25/2=12.5

chances:

10 11 12 13 14 15

try to use this for example. the further you go away from the bold numbers, the smaller the chance is to get that number. \:\)

I think the other genetics thread examines the numbers quite thoroughly, Manny. Since there aren't any major observable changes in VV3 to the methods the game uses in selecting head types, I think we can safely leave the math in the VV3 threads.

I also may be mistaken, but Gmom seems to have a grasp of the genetics already; she's correct that blonds are among the hardest to breed, along with the black-haired villagers. If you let a blond- or black-haired tribe to itself, they generally seem to creep back towards brunettes or redheads. She also has an obvious grasp of the system used for numbering the head types, so I'm sure we don't have to re-explain all this here.

A curtsey of thanks, Lurkily. To clarify, I didn't bother to identify my redhaired guy, because he was the lowest numbered guy in the tribe. And my #7 girl was the result of 27 to 27. I love the random factor!

And a sweeping bow of "You're-welcome" to you. Do I get a cookie?

The random factor does make things interesting; watching the makeup of your tribe swing back and forth as one blond gets dropped in among the black-haired folk can be interesting. \:\)

yes, Gmomluvsvv is right. there is a chance that there can be a villager with a number outside the range. but, however, i dislike the random factor. sorry if mean. \:\(

I like the random factor; it makes it far easier to breed out of a slump of brunettes if the occasional blond or redhead is born; it greatly assists breeding out of a single-hair-color village.

i mean i only like random factors if i get a blonde or brunettes. not if i get a redhead, a dark-brown haired or a light-brown head.
