Wonderful video! Loved the raindrops and kids playing in puddles. Did I imagine it, or were some of the people leaving footprints in the sand? I thought so, then I noticed some that weren't. And a lot of stuff you've shown us in the screen pics weren't even IN the video! There's going to be so much more to do with this game than the previous ones.

Is it worth adding the video to this thread as well?

And to think - the beta testers ('cause it's GOT to be in beta testing by now!) are already enjoying all of this! I'm soooo jealous!

I have been watching and waiting hanging around forums for months just reading what has going on through out the day after I came home from work. I can't wait the video was great. Thank you for the preview. I'm a grandmother here in Tahoe who is raising my grandson I wanted to see vv3 out during winter months summer is for outside fun in Tahoe but I guess I will be spending time indoors this summer. I have played vv sense the first came out. Loved vv1 than when two came out couldn't get enough. VV3 is going to be even better. We are waiting on pins and needles.

To help with my impatience, I decided today to go back and play vv1 (it's been a couple of years since I played it!). What a surprise! It's amazing to see how the village and villagers have evolved into what we see in the video today! I also notice at the start of the video, there's still plenty of island to be explored....maybe into the volcano itself! hint hint!! (If they go with that idea...pls remember you heard it from me first!! lol)

Hey did anyone notice. on the 0.45 second, the action of the tribal chief appears to be scratched out. Maybe its a secret action when you pick them up...? Or maybe its just my eyes lol

I'm suspecting that the Tribal Chief won't just suddenly appear. He OR SHE will earn that position by some means which, it would seem, we can control. Maybe something like a super-duper Esteemed Elder?

No, not that, when the chief if being carried, the action appear to be blocked out.

And notice that it's only on the screen while the Chief is "flying" down to the amphitheater. But it's odd because it's the hand that's moving him; he's not flying down on his own. So Scotty's not beaming him down (yet)!

I noticed it too. I thought it was just blurry because of the video until someone else pointed it out.

Also some people are wondering how we get the chief and I hope that once you get the chief his first child becomes the next chief when he dies because thats how actual tribes do it.

Sooo excited to play! I am looking forward to the tribal chief also.. and the weather. Can't wait!

That's gonna be a really FFFUUUNNN game!

What are people's thoughts on:

1) The random vases lying around (I saw one at the top of the path with the door, and one in the amphitheatre)
2) The door at the top of the path (where the chief was moved from to address to village) with three holes in it; very strange!
3) Is that also a door in between the two totems and the leaf 'roof' in the amphitheatre?
4) The little fish that are actually visible in the shallow area of the coral (I just think they're cute!)
5) The weird thing next to the tree the villagers shelter under. I can't decide if it looks like it has wheels, or is a stone building in construction. If the latter, perhaps our villagers will be building stone buildings from now on!

There's so much more to comment on, such as the inclusion of our favourite piles of driftwood at 1m26s.

But, the main thing I have noticed is also at 1 minute 26 seconds into the video. If you pause it, can anyone else see a golden.. thing... possibly with a purple stone in the middle of it hanging from the wall?

Anyway, was just curious as to what oher people thought/think they've seen!! Much excitement on my part

Oh, and I wonder if we'll be able to change the chief's outfit! That would be nice, or at least select a cape like we were able to change villagers clothes in vv2.

And FINALLY, it's pretty evident to me that whoever lived on this island before our little villagers were BIG on decoration. That broken statue looks like it would have taken some time to carve

I think #5 is a lift to the cliff on the right with the tree. Because there's no other way onto the tree and when you go to the VV3 pictures and look at the properties of the picture with the tree its called a lift. So thats my theory.

no, further to the left of the tree... if you pause 18seconds into the vid it's the thing with a little bit cut off at the bottom, down and to the right of the selected villager. I agree about the thing you're talking about being a lift though.

Does anyone else think the ramshackle building above the selected villager there will me something for our builders to work on?

Have U noticed that near the ampitheatere there is some sort of idol/statue that looks like it is broken in half it could be a puzzle to put them on top of eachother & restore the statue

I don't know if will live to see VV3. I was so excited about a week ago and I couldn't take my eyes of the website. Now I'm sad and I've been walking around all weekend just staring out the window just thinking about VV3. I feel like I'm going to die of depression if it isn't released anytime soon. (as in a week)

But I keep on telling myself, "Get a freaken life!" But I love this game to much right now.

They have not as yet announced a release date besides Spring 2008.

hello....if you don't mind my asking...how do you have anyone alive, much less bustling, in either VV1 or VV2?

i still have many alive in VV2 but none seem to breed though some are young enough. i have 5 girls set to breeding & 2 men but no luck for a long time now!

VV1 i have only 38 left but ALL way too old to breed and dying quite often.

is there a secret to keeping some alive?

here's a thought and only a thought... so don't hold it accountable.. chances are that vv3 is already done, the beta testing is done, and the re-coding is about 99% done. I do have experience in the gaming world and based on their time schedule that they've kept I wouldn't be surprised to see the game released within the week. I'm sure i'll catch slack for posting this but so be it.

I totally agree with this... if we have to wait too much longer it could be considered cruel and unusual punishment... jk. i think that if June comes around and it is still not out... there might just be rioting in the streets (or at least verbal rioting in the forums...)

I'd also like it to be released, but I'd like LDW to get all the glitches out of VV3 first. I think I spotted a glitch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was the space around the mouse slightly blurred in the video?

that is probably just the compression to fit the video into a reasonable downloadable size.

I've seen a number of spots where it looks like things are "scratched out" - someone mentioned carrying the tribal chief, but I've seen it in others. I think it's just distortion from the video.

It's kind of tricky to make a video of virtual villagers: you need the correct amount of population/food/tech and you need them to do "EXACTLY" what you want.... which is not always the case as you all know..

It basically takes me 3 days to do a movie and then I need to make sure it's not too short, nor too long, the music is long enough, add the wordings etc etc...

wow, I never realized that. And what exactly do you mean by "real time weather?"

(I bet rain is going to be our biggest pet peeve in VV3 if it stops villagers from working)
