There are many different breeding charts and lists in our Fish Tycoon Guides forum.

I am not good with charts, and every where I have searched is not telling me what I need to know lol, but I was just wondering how I would make a fanned fatfish? I have a lot of variations of fatfish, so I guess i was just wondering what fin types would create a fanned? I have yet to see a fanned fin and I have been playing for oooh... I cant even remember lol. Currently, I have: Golden, wasp, spined, orange, pink. I have been breeding all of them to see if they will get me fanned but running out of room atm = 0. Any help would be appreciated. I know that some other fish will get me to a fanned fatfish, but i would preferably like to get it with the fatfish i already have. Thanks all <3

Please advise me how to sell my fish at a higher price! I can't move on at this rate I can barely afford medicine and my fish are not progresssing just repeating the species. I can't sell the fish for even 100.00. The crowd doesn't seem to care either. They walk in and dance around and look bored and rarely buy a fish unless it is under 10.00. The funds are necessary to advance in the game. How do I do it? They make me feel so helpless. I love this game and it took me a long time to find a computer and environment to spawn them in. I don't want to give up but how can I go on?
i know fanned is some cross with hornet, maybe twin fin (known as claw fingers) There is hatchback, canary, crimson for other fin types. Who knows what else you can come up with!

Only the rarer species will sell for a lot of money. Here is one strategy for getting a good start in the game and making enough money to progress - you might find a few tips in here that you can use: While there are many successful strategies for playing Fish Tycoon, here's a step by step guide for one way to get started successfully:
Drop the starter eggs into Tank 1. Go to the supplies area and buy some common eggs for $160. Drop them into Tank 1 and wait for them to hatch. If you want them to grow up quickly, you can set the game speed to fast, but you'll have to check your fish often to make sure that they are fed. They will grow up in less than 2 hours.
Once they are adults, try to find two fish EXACTLY the same. You can breed them successfully. Their babies will not lose health and die. If you can't find two fish exactly alike, choose two fish that are very similar (the same type of fish - for example Spotanus or Beta). If you breed these, even though their fins might be different, they will probably live to be adults. If you don't get any fish similar enough to breed successfully, you can always start a new game and try again. It's important not to cross breed species early in the game, because they will die and you won't have any money to buy more eggs.
If any of your fish get sick early in the game, you should probably not spend money on medicine until you have extra money. Once your new fish are grown up, you should move them to the selling tank (Tank $), and click the Sell Fish button. You will see the store screen. When a customer buys one of your fish the species, picture and price of that fish will be displayed in the information area below the store.
Keep breeding fish as described above until you have enough money to buy a second tank. Tank 2 will give you more room to breed fish and you will make money faster. Drag some of your fish to Tank 2 and keep breeding the same fish to make enough money to research tank improvements.
Remember to keep making money by breeding fish and selling them. Once you have made enough money to research Fish Environment, you will be able to breed more expensive species of fish.

I used the starter fish to breed til I found a fish whose base price is about $20 (that's probably the highest price that lvl 1 environment can handle), then I breed a lot of that kind and sell most of the others (keep the parents so you can use them to make more). Then I set the price up a couple bucks. If that sells within the first couple min, I go back and up the price a couple more bucks. And then Repeat. If I sit and watch for a few min without a sale, I walk away for 10 or 15 min. If they're all sold, I up the price again for the next batch. I got my orange leaffish from 20ish to 41 over time, and used it to fund lvl 2 &3 environment upgrades, the second tank, etc. Then I bought higher lvl eggs to find something I could sell for more. Hope that helps!
